Hi there, does anyone know how long it takes to get from PP to the border in Kep by hired taxi? And on the other side of the border, how long does it take to get to Ha Tien . And how long does it take to get from Ha Tien to Rach Gia ferry dock by hired taxi? Can we do it in a day? I heard there is a ferry leaving Rach Gia at 1:30pm. Does anybody know if there is a reliable service from Ha Tien? And does anybody know if there is a reliable ferry service from Cambodia to Phu Quoc?
Thanks a lot in advance for all your information!

that's a lot of questions
- 3 - 4 hours by taxi from PP to border
- 5 - 10 minutes border to Ha Tien
- 1,5 - 2 hours but finding a good taxi will take a bit of time
- you can do it in a day (in theory) but leave very early from PP and arrive at border at 9. Changing transport many times is the most challenging part. Much easier to spend 1 night in Kep or Rach Gia (although that's a very big town with very little for tourists (few people speak english etc.))
- Better to go from Rach Gia. Boats from Ha Tien are less reliable. Rach Gia is for a big part built on business and transport to Phu Quoc. Ha Tien is more for fishermen, slow local transport and smugling to Phu Quoc.
- No, there is no service from Cambodia to Phu Quoc. Plans are there for near future but so far nothing concrete. Don't hold your breath.

Hi,
Its perfectly feasible taking a boat from Ha Tien to Phu Quoc. 2 boats every day; 1 around 9 in the morning and one early in the afternoon.
Trust me you will not be the only tourist one it...
The service from Cambodia (Kep) to Phu Quoc will more then likely start at the end of 2010.
Do agree on spending 1 night in Kep; nice little sleepy town with some nice guesthouses
