#1 Posted: 6/1/2010 - 15:00 We're aiming to get from Phnom Penh to Kampot in a couple of days. The taxi seems the quicker way to go, although obviously more expensive. We'll have a maximum budget of about USD$25. Can we realistically expect to bargain a taxi down to this price (or lower) for a one way trip? |

#2 Posted: 6/1/2010 - 15:38 Hi Ibon, Probably closer to $40 than $20 (have just updated the Kampot transport section to reflect this) -- if you are on a budget, grab the bus -- it is a fraction of the price. #3 Posted: 6/1/2010 - 22:21 Yeah, the bus is fine, or you could go by taxi for $25 if you share with other passengers. You could possibly buy the whole back seat of the taxi for $20 or $25, with another two (Cambodian) passengers in the front. |

#7 Posted: 10/1/2010 - 10:07 We ended up paying $35. In retrospect we probably could have bargained down the price a little more. Rikitikitavi have offered to organise us a taxi back to Phnom Penh and quoted $35. |
