I am thinking of taking an Intrepid tour of Cambodia in December. Has anyone done this trip or has anyone taken any Intrepid trip?
If so then what were the group dynamics? Was there a good mix of people?
thanks

Hi workingNOMAD,
Welcome to Travelfish!
I've not done one, but know a lot of their guides -- according to whom the groups vary tremendously -- pax are highly represented by Australians and long, late nights out can often be the norm... If you get a young group the trip can be quite a party, but other groups can be old and staid -- I think you can ask Intrepid what other people are booked on the trip and take that as a guide.
Can always do Cambodia solo -- take a look at the Trip planner section for some sample trip plans that should give you an idea of how long it takes to get where.
Hope that helps

did one to thaialnd in late 90s. as #1 says there was a lot of drinking, but overall it was fun and for the cost (I can't remember how much, but it was cheap) it was neat value. The guide was surprisingly good as he spoke great thai and seemed very knowledgable about the country.

Thanks for your replies. Ordinarily I would just go independently but I think I might be able to get a freebie or a big discount.
I met some people in KL who were on a Malaysia trip and they seemed to be having a ball so I'll probably give it a shot anyway.

I haven't been on one but we have met several groups and they seem to stay in good places and really get out to interesting places like Kompong Cham and Battambang. We joined a group of younger people in doing a cooking course in the latter and they were really enjoying it. Groups seem to vary a lot in ages so I think it depends very much on that.
