Hi guys

I may be taking a little detour to phnom penh next week before making my way to koh chang on the eastern coast of Thailand.
I've done a search and can't find any solid info on the journey. The siem reap to koh chang story on here is really good and I was wondering if somebody had any info similar for phnom penh to ko chang?

Thanks guys

Pete

Sure - I made the PP to Koh Chang trip in one day last July. You can pick up a bus ticket in PP that will take you all the way. (you can buy this from most sellers along the riverside in PP). The trip consists of a bus ride to Koh Kong, where you will switch to another bus that takes you to the border. They will then escort you through the border and put you in a van for the trip down to the ferry dock. There you will have a stop at a restaurant before heading to ferry dock -- where they will attempt to hook you up with a hotel in Koh Chang, and will offer you transportation all the way to the hotel (or to a hotel you may already have a reservation with). In other words, the ticket you bought in PP will take you all the way to the ferry dock on the Island of Koh Chang. So, the question is how you get from the ferry in Koh Chang to your Koh Chang destination.
Timing: I left PP around 7am and was at my hotel in Koh Chang just before 5pm. It was an easy and comfortable journey and I think the cost was just over $20 for the bus(es) from PP to ferry dock on Koh Chang...and then I did pay the folks at that restaurant stop something (I can't remember-- 70 baht? 90 baht?) for the transport from Ferry dock to hotel (at White Sands beach).
Koh Chang was lovely -- have a great trip!

That's great. So it's not a scam then? I'm just worried I'll buy a ticket and it will turn into a horror story. Do you know which company you got the ticket from?
