Five star Angkor Villa is new guesthouse in Siem Reap, set up by Mr Ratana and his wife. Ratane is well known in town from 'Five Star Computer'.
For a long time he has been helping expatriets and locals in town sovling the neverending computer problems. Through Five Star Computers he has worked with several hotels and guesthouses, and he has picked up good ideas from the successful places - which is vissible in the new Five Star Angkor Villa.
Its brand new, all rooms with ensuite bathroom and wireless internet connection in all the rooms. Prices are from 6 USD.
At the moment they are doing a special Easter promotion, with 25% discount.
If you are in Siem Reap on a budget, this is a place worth checking out. http://www.fivestarangkor.com/

Has anyone else stayed at Five Star Angkor Villa that can comment on their experience? I try to give new places a chance (and avoid those in the LP) but am having trouble finding information about this place ...
Cheers.

Hi amazon_blonde
Stayed their in February and I really enjoyed the place as in great location and not far from the main area of the Old market/pub street so you can easy walk it. They have a nice restaurant and bar with cheap food and beer. The rooms are good value as well considering how good the location is. It is a pretty new place with very little marketing done on it so that maybe why you can not find much info about the place. A good find though.

stayed there in the last week of march 09. had a room with the most number of windows. nice and clean. the ensuite bathroom was nice, but a little cramp for anyone bigger than me. i had slight problem using the sink, and i am 152 cm and small frame.
overall great service, very friendly and helpful staff. it's quiet even though it a very short walk to old market by the river. the staff are very very friendly and i had a really WICKED fish amok there! could still taste that wonderful dish in my head. ;)
