We have recently visited Siem Reap and the highlight of our visit there was a visit to ACODO (www.acodo.org ), a local orphanage and school for underprivileged and disabled children. We taught english there for a day and also attended their evening traditional dance show (performed by the orphans). I am really trying to help this wonderful organisation as I know they are currently not only struggling to find volunteers and an audience for their performance but also to feed the children.

The performance is free and is at their school/orphanage only a $3 Tuk Tuk from town. It is 6.30pm every night and goes for 1 - 1 1/2 hours. The dancing is incredibly good and these amazing children (68 of whom live in one small room with only 2 long wooden platforms for beds) dance with so much enthusiasm and pride. We loved it! Of course donations are accepted after the show and these are vitally important to this organisation.

Would recommend it to anyone visiting Siem Reap.
