I plan on taking a Visa card with me. My travel agent said Aussie dollars cash is fine, but I was wondering if AU or US dollars would be better?

How to manage your money while travelling in Asia -- lots of info in there.

In Thailand Australian cash is fine.

Don't buy Baht in OZ!!!!!

Change your Aussie dollars to Baht when you get here. You'll get a much better rate than at home.

Don't bother changing Au$ to US$ to THB as you'll loose on charges every time.

If you are thinkning of using the AU$ in Thailand as currency, forget it...you'll get ripped for sure.

PS - Small dollar bills (US $ 1) are useful in Cambodia and hard to get in Thailand.
