$1000 for 5 weeks: Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam - Feasible???

    Traveling overland, staying in the cheapest guesthouses, eating only for sustenance, tourist visa application at each border. Is this budget realistic for a first time backpacker on tight budget? if not, any suggestion how to work it out?

    That's a little under US$30 a day (assuming you're talking about US$) for one on a tight budget, it's doable.

    hopefully that is doable because i'm about to leave for almost 5 months on $3000usd. possibly foolish but hopefully the universe provideth.
