I've always wondered how many people I pass on my trips to southeast Asia who are folks I've met here on the message board. On my last trip, I proudly wore my Travelfish t-shirt, but that was only once a week, and nobody seemed to comment on it.

What about something else with the Travelfish logo that's easy to spot, like a logo patch for our day packs?

Somtam, I don't even know if you are still selling the t-shirts and other logo items, but I'd love to have a Travelfish patch for my day pack or hat or something that is easy to spot. I'd be buying a beer too for anyone I spotted with a Travelfish logo item or for anyone who spotted me with one.

Anyway, just an idea. I'd be happy to buy the patch and even happier to win one in any of the Travelfish contests that pop up from time to time. Cheers.

hi crispyrolls,

yeah, the shirts were definitely for sale at some time in the past, since both me and the mrs. have one. but i guess they aren't for sale anymore?

anyway, like the sticker idea. fun. love the idea of a hat too, since i'd have the chance to wear it alot and people could spot me as a fellow travelfisher. functional and a conversation starter. bonus.

T-shirts -- don't get me started! We're in the process of getting some made here which should make it much Far Less Complicated for us to make them available through the site. Will keep you posted. Stickers - interesting - hadn't thought of that -- lets see how I go with the t-shirts first!

Stickers -- I have a gazillion stickers -- anyone who wants some, please email me your address and I'll get them posted to you. Please send the email to stickers@travelfish.org

Cheers

Stickers arrived in NZ today, thanks! (Actually, could have been sooner but I only cleared the PO Box today).

So... now I gotta think about where I can stick 'em. Laptop lid? Diary cover? What are other people's suggestions?

A secret handshake? How about a secret sign - like some sort of hip hop sign or something? A secret tattoo? I don't know, just throwing ideas out there.

i think a 'travelfish patch' would be a great idea, then you could sew it on to your backpack! It would be great free advertising too as even if you didnt speak to someone they'd probably see the patch on your pack

Marginally better than people attending TT pissups with a copy of LP in their hands so they can be recognized I suppose.

It would be nice to actually meet up with posters IRL but I'm not wearing stickers and patches for 6 months on the offchance that there's a travelfisher on the same bus as me. It's bad enough getting stickered whenever you buy a boat ticket to places like Ko Tao.

Of course, if we had a PM function people could exchange phone numbers/emails etc rather than having to look like they're part of some kind of tour. 8pm Gullies, I'll be the old lady wearing flipflops, ripped jeans and a punk T shirt. ;-)

the stickers finally arrived at my rural Utah home too. thanks! i couldn't help but notice all the zeros on the stamps you used to send them. i remember how that much cash bought a nasi goreng and a BIG bottle of bintang on my last trip to indonesia. thanks for the extra effort in sending the stickers and for being so generous picking up the postage. cheers.

Well my faith in the Indonesian postal system is getting a big leg-up here -- glad to hear they are getting there!

More new countries -- Belgium, Fiji and Morocco.

Again if you want some Travelfish stickers -- send me an email to stickers@travelfish.org with your address and I'll post them to you -- easy as that!

Never say never.

The post office is well and truly sick of the sight of me and when I popped by the other day asking after postage for the tshirts (something I really wish I had done before I decided to give away 50) they recoiled in horror. me thinks I'll be posting them from Denpasar.

When I was bundling up the last of the t-shirts to go the other day, I found a pile of around 20 sets of stickers that had slipped behind by desk -- they've now been posted out -- apols for the delays -- it's my fault -- not Indo Post's!
