Google is extremely easy to use and you can be up and running in seconds, just set the comments prefference so that there is no moderation and you're there.
There's the added benefit of gmail, online photo download, documents, Google earth mapping, regular maps and everything else in google world.
Blogs tend to all have a similar look to them but who cares, it's the content.
I wrote a story on this a while back looking at three of the bigger "travel specialist" blogging sites. I thought Travellerspoint was the best, but there are a lot of options and it depends a lot on how many bells and whistles one wants.

Hey all,
New to this site and what a site it is! Off to India/SE Asia in a couple of weeks, and want to get a blog up and running before I leave.
Can anyone recommend the best sites to do this on? I want everyone I know to be able to comment easily, without having to sign up to anything...
Cheers in advance!

For travel, I use www.travelblog.org as it can upload pics & vids.
But, there are plenty more.
Cheers
