Hello,
I am going for a month in SE, and wanted to ask if time after new years is ok? considering not the weather but expenses and tourists? Are they gone after new years and everything came back to normal prices or is it still there and I need to wait a little bit more and then go?
SEA is a big place - and the more popular areas will be very busy right through to Feb. And if it's busy, you'll be paying high season prices. Other areas will be quieter. Where exactly are you going and we can give you a more helpful reply.

As you grow older, you'll find the only things you regret are the things you didn't do.

I echo Liz - where is a pretty important variable.
