We plan to start with one or two days in Saigon, before we take a nightbus to Rach Gia where we plan to take the first boat to Phu Quoc Island. We want to spend to or three days on the island, before heading back. From Rach Gia the plan is to travel the coast either by motorbike, train or bus (or maybe all of them... what to you think considered we don´t have so much time?), stopping in either Hoi An or Dong Ha where our plan is to cross the border to Laos, travel throught Savannakhet and Pakse (only Pakse if we cross the border in from Hoi An.
From Laos our plan is to travel to Siem Reap, see Angkor Wat and travel to Phnom Penh, stay a couple of days before we head to Bangkok by plane.
We really don´t have a lot of time. We have 5 weeks in South East Asia, but want to have at least three weeks in Thailand. We know two weeks is short time, but we are willing to travel from place to place often.
Have anyone travelled this route, and do someone have any advice how to travel (motorbike, train etc) and how many days we should plan to use in each country considered the quite big distance?
Vietnam is definetly the place we want to spend most days (beside Thailand).
or maybe cross the border earlier since Laos isn´t one of our biggest
