I think they all moved to Thailand. Periodically Mukdahan is seemingly overrun with them. You can buy one here for 500,000 baht, but they eat a lot of food!

I like elephants. They are quite intelligent. And I have a farm in Yasothon where I could keep one. But I don't have the extra cash nor the time to properly take care of one, so I guess it's a bad idea.
