I there a departure tax when leaving Cambodia & Laos by land...

Cambodia: "Departure tax for international flights is currently $25 US Dollars, and $6 Dollars for domestic flights" - Laos - $12

Airport departure tax from Cambodia is now included in the ticket taxes when buying your ticket and no longer needs to be paid on departure when flying out (unless the ticket was purchased prior to 21 January 2011).

There are no official departure taxes when leaving by land but border officials may try and charge you a dollar or two "exit stamp" fee.
