I am in Chiang Mai, soon to head down near Phuket for some diving.
Currently, my plan is to dive a bit, then take the train/bus (overland) to KL, Singapore, and then fly from there either (1) back to Thailand for more diving or (2) into Indonesia/Malaysia to dive. I WILL eventually make it towards Bali and whatnot, but I have no set time plan.
My question is, what is the best way to go about traveling to Indo/Mala from the mainland? Other than flights, what options do I have? How much should I expect to spend getting place to place, even if I have to fly?
