Hi,
We have a trip planned for Janunary next year, just a month to see some relatives in Singapore, spend a few days in Hanoi and 2 weeks in Bali. This is all planned already and now I suspect I may be pregnant! If i am right, I would be 3-4 months while we are away. It's probably a silly question, but as long as the woman has a healthy pregnancy it should be safe, right? We will be taking quite a few flights, but the longest will only be about 7 and a half hours as it's broken up with an overnight stop in Dubai both ways.
One thing I'm worried about is I havn't had the typhoid vaccination yet and havn't completed the twinrix (hep a and b). We wanted to do this before leaving. I know to stick to bottled water and eat in busy popular places. I am not worried about singapore but just hanoi and bali, 2 places I have never been to before.
I just wondered if any other women on this forum have travelled in these places before while pregnant and what their experiences were?
Thanks

Hi,
I don't know if I can be of any help: I've been pregnant, and I've traveled to both Hanoi and Bali, but I've never been pregnant while overseas. My relatives in Bali have gone through multiple pregnancies there and been happy with their obstetricians, though I know my aunt traveled to Jakarta to see a specialist during her last pregnancy. You should be aware that neither place has the quality of care available in Thailand or Singapore, and you would certainly want to have insurance including medical evacuation, just in case.

Consult your physician. Any advice gleaned here on the net on this subject is just not reliable enough given the magnitude of the consequences if someone is wrong.
