    Kerala is a famous tourist destination whichis growing very fast. The major attractions in Kerala are the marvelousbeaches, enchanting hill stations, wildlife, breathtaking backwaters andnumerous famous temples and Churches. Kerala, also known as ‘God’s Own Country’is blessed with lot of greenery and many rare kinds of animals and birds.
    Thekkady, located in the Idukki district inKerala, is one of the major tourist attractions. It is the favorite place fornature lovers. It is one of the best wild life centers in India. Its unspoilttropical forests are home to an incredible wealth of animal and plant life. Thejourney to Thekkady is through quaint little hill towns and softly contouredhill slopes that are covered with plantations of tea, coffee and spices likecardamom and pepper. It is location of the Periyar National Park and the TigerReserve where there a number of wild animals especially the wild elephants.

    Thekkady has a cool and pleasant climate inthe summers. The temperature is generally between 15 to 30 degree celcius.Tourists interested in trekking and mountain walks can have a great time in thepicturesque plantations and hill towns of Thekkady. September to May is thebest time to visit Thekkady.
    The Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserveis one of the most fascinating natural life reserves in the whole world. Thekkady tour provides the unique experience ofviewing wildlife at close quarters from a boat on the lake. Kumily, Murikkady,Pandikuzhi, Mangala Devi Temple, Chellarkovil, Vandiperiyar, Vandanmedu andPullumedu are the other attractions in Thekkady.
