We will soon be travelling through s.e.a and have come up with the following idea for an itinenary for eight weeks. Does this sound do-able ?

Hanoi
Halong Bay
Hue
Na Trang
Miu Ne
Siagon
Phnom Penh
Siem Reap
Batambang
Phnom Penh
Kratie
Stung Treng
Don Khon, Don Dhet
Champasak
Pakse
Ubon Rathachani
Bangkok,

Would appreciate any advise or ideas

Hi Steve/Lesley,

That looks like a good trip -- a bit of an unusual routing through Cambodia, but quite a good way to rope in a fair bit of the country without too much backtracking. While you're in Battambang, try to fit in time to see the winery just outside town -- anywhere that thinks to serve Prahok (fermented fish paste) with wine is worth a look in in my book!

One striking ommission is Hoi An between Hue and Nha Trang -- it is well worth a look.

Otherwise, eight weeks sounds like a pretty good stretch of time for a trip like this.

Thanks somtam. Get your point about Hoi An. We had missed it out of our list to try and cut down on time, but looking deeper into it I think we would be better cutting out a few days here and there on the rest of our itinerary and allowing for a at least a couple of nights in Hoi An. Looking forward to the fermented fish paste !
