Hey everyone,
We are a couple looking for advice on our itinerary - 3 weeks - August 11th to Sept 2nd. We are flying to and back from Bangkok. We are aiming at staying more east of these countries to avoid the rain and prefer to avoid big cities.
This is what we have in mind so far but have nothing booked:
11-13 BKK
14-15 Kanchanaburi or Ayutthaya
16-21 Koh Tao (diving certification?) or Ko Pha Ngan
22-25 Perenthian islands (?)
26-28 Jungle train to Taman Negara (trekking in the jungle)
29 Flight from Kuala Lumpur to Siem Reap
30-2 Siem Reap and Angkor Wat
2 BKK and back home
Does anyone have advice on this? We're particularly unsure about Malaysia, as we also heard really good things about Penang and Cameron higlands + it would be strange to move from the Tahi islands straight to Perenthian.
Recommendations are also welcome on Kanchanaburi vs Attutthaya (just 1-2 days) and the overal trip from BKK to Malaysia (we thought about travelling by train).

No one there? We're leaving tomorrow and we would love to have some feedback from you guys!
We're also wondering whether to do Koh Tao or the EAST COAST of Pha Ngan...we're looking for something not crowded or developed and mellow with a very laid-back/chilling atmosphere. We initially thought of Koh Tao because we were interested in the diving course but I read your reviews on the east coast of Pha Ngan and it looks more beautiful, chilled and underdeveloped than Tao. Any opinion? Maybe we could go to Pha Ngan and still do some diving for beginners?
