I'm a U.S. Citizen myself (not sure if that has anything to do with it) but I've never had my onward travel checked. Someone gave some good advice once that you can go to a web-booking site and book the itinerary without paying, and just print that screen so it looks like you've got it booked . . . not that I would ever condone such truth bending.

My friend and I will be flying to Bangkok from India to travel around SE Asia for a few months.
When we arrive at Bangkok will we need proof of onward travel? We were not planning on pre booking any flights. Thanks
