Hi there.

I bought a few DVD's recently in Hanoi. I just tried to post them to Australia, but was refused (something about Vietnamese customs..) I was assured I could take them out of Vietnam personally and not pay duty, assuming of course there wasn't a commercial quantity, as I believe there isn't.

A few questions:

1) Can I take 27 DVD's out of Vietnam without being taxed?

2) Can I take 27 DVD's into Australia without being taxed?

3) If I can't do either of those above, what is my upper limit?

Thanks

I'd assume you'd have no problem for that kind of quantity. My guess would be over 50 or so could give you a bit of hassle upon arrival in Oz. I've taken dozens back in the past without problem.

We had no trouble taking DVD's out of Vietnam and none bringing them into Australia, we had about 50.
We just left them in our cases and no-one questioned us, either end.
