South East Asia travel tours

Posted by subs17 on 5/8/2013 at 11:38

Hey, I'm 23 from London and am looking to travel South East Asia for 5-6 weeks, from the end of November 2013 to the start of January 2014. Looking to start in Thailand and then maybe take in Laos or/and Cambodia.

Haven't got a travel buddy at the moment so was wondering if anyone knew of any decent tours which I could join so I could meet people and generally see as much as possible.

Thanks!

Just fly there and book tours as you go.

When you arrive (Bangkok) just get a taxi to Khao San Road like 80% of backpackers do. There you'll see hundreds of like-minded travellers and with a little effort make some travel buddies. Also one of the best ways to hook up is doing a group-based tour. From Bangkok this could be a 1-2 day trip to Kanchanaburi or Ayutthaya, or head north to Chiang Mai and book a 2-3 day trek or a cooking school, or head south and do a Scuba dive course or snorkeling trip. Anything that gets you in a group for 1-2-3 days. Wait until you get there and book locally - always better/cheaper that way. Maybe do the south first then come up to Chiang Mai then the logical route into north Laos. Make friends on the 2-day slow boat to Luang Prabang, etc.
