Has anyone been on the 24 hour bus journey from Vientiane to Hanoi? What is it like?

I'm considering flying, but its so much more expensive (£75) and I'm on quite a tight budget, so if the journey's not too bad then I'll get the bus.

Long, but not particularly uncomfortable...and don't be surprised if it takes a good deal longer than 24 hours.

If time allows, break the trip at Tha Khaek and visit the spectacular Konglor cave -- a highlight of Laos.
