Wanted to know boats that leave Chau Doc to Phnom Penh
1. How many boats leave per day?
2. Is there any fast boats?
3. What times?
4. All costs?
5. How long does it take?
6. Do they all leave from near the Victory Hotel?
We have been told there are no toilets on one boat, we don't know which one.

1) Two - one fast, one slow
2) Yes
3) Morning -- I'm not sure of exact time.
4) Fast boat is about US$15 or so I believe
5) Fast boat around five hours, slow boat longer
6) Fast boat yes, not sure about slow boat.

I've only caught the fast boat and there was no toilet on board. We passed the slow boat and given it was a far larger boat it looked like it probably had a toilet.

Yep, all as above.
Fast boat is mad, long and low and fast. No bogs on board.
But we spent about an hour at the border too where there was a particularly horrid toilet, if that's any consolation.

Hi,

Depends. We did it in a week. Bus (Mekong Tours is your only touristic choice, terrible) to My Tho for a night. Then up to Vinh long (over-rated) by local minivan - you stand on the highway and flag one down - and up to Chau Doc by overnight boat (Mekong Tours again) for three nights which is lovely, well worth a breather for a few days. Then we got the mad speedboat.

Otherwise Mekong Tours run a two-day tour from Saigon to PP, one night in a hotel somewhere and one night on the boat.

I think I read somewhere that there is a direct bus from Saigon to Chau Doc which takes about seven hours, it's then five to PP. So if you were in a hurry, count on about twelve.

Sorry, visa-wise, it's the same boat all the way.

We had pre-arranged visas but you still have to stop at the border, once on the Vietnamese side and then once on the Cambodian side.
