Could anyone tell me the journey time from HCM to P.Penh by bus,train or boat?
Would like to know if its feasable rather than to fly the route with Vietnam Airlines to save some money but timescale is a big factor for us.

Hi simeone_8,
There is no train connection between the two cities, so boat and bus are the two main ways - each takes the best part of a day.
I've done the fast boat from Phnom Penh to Chau Doc which takes about 4 hours, from Chau Doc to HCM would be about another 5 hours or so by bus.
From HCM I've taken the bus to Phnom Penh which took about 8 hours but included 3 hours sitting at the border for no good reason. -- if you could get a bus that skipped the wasted time at the border, it is a pretty fast trip.

As you say, without the border stop, 5 hours is a journey i could handle, but i presume it takes a while to get everyones visas checked and change buses etc.
May have to bite the bullet and take the flight then.
