from hanoi to phonsavan

    hi all,

    i just found out about a bus from vinh (vietnam) to phonsavan (laos). via the border crossing at nam can wohlit is supposed to take 12 hours. did anybody do this trip already?

    from hanoi to vinh there is a train. however the website [URL="http://www.vr.com.vn/english/index.html"]http://www.vr.com.vn/english/index.html[/URL] doesn´t seem to be working. does anybody know how long this trip takes?

    also vinh itself doesn´t seem to be that interesting... is there any other feasible way to get from hanoi to the border crossing nam can or to phonsavan directly?

    any help would be greatly appreciated!

    A description of the reverse trip was posted here on Travelfish a while ago. I can't put my finger on it readily.
