My wife and I have our flights booked to Saigon on Jan 16 until February 2.
Problem is, we don't have much else planned because everything looks so great we're having a terribly hard time prioritizing our wants for this trip. Originally, we were naively hoping to see Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand but we're realizing that with 16 days, we just don't have that time. We don't want to be flying every other day.
So, can anyone help with suggestions that we definitely shouldn't miss for our first trip to SE Asia coming up in less than 1 month? Any help would be much appreciated!
Are you arriving & departing from Ho Chi Minh City? From there you can easily travel to Phnomh Penh, Cambodia, by bus/boat. From there it's a day's travel to Bangkok by bus (or a short flight).
What are your interests? Temples? Museums? Beaches? Nature? Shopping?

Thanks for the reply! Yes, we'd flying into and out of HCMC.
We'd love to get up to Luang Prabang but the flights look to be quite expensive. I'd say we're more excited about meeting people and experiencing the nature than going to museums or going shopping. Laos interests us because we hear it's quite undiscovered and the opportunity to meet people and do some hiking/biking sounds ideal.
