While travelling through Thailand, Laos and Cambodia what souvenirs would people recommend to keep an eye out for. I'm definately not talking about cheap knock off stuff in BKK but items that really signify where they're from. Will be travelling through BKK, Luang Prabang, Vietiane, Phnom Penh, Siem Ream and other stops along the way. Love markets and handmade trinkets. What should we save room for?
Thanks
Thailand: MY GOD - so many things to buy here! Go to Chatuchak weekend market and you'll see what I mean, but just looking around my loungeroom, I can see soft silk throws, palm leaf scrolls, faux antiques, ornate lamps...there's a lot more upstairs ;-)

Hi belly,
Welcome to Travelfish!
That's a great question -- here's my shortlist:
Thailand: MY GOD - so many things to buy here! Go to Chatuchak weekend market and you'll see what I mean, but just looking around my loungeroom, I can see soft silk throws, palm leaf scrolls, faux antiques, ornate lamps...there's a lot more upstairs ;-)
Laos: traditional woven fabrics, silverware
Cambodia: kramas, carved stone -- Angkorian replicas etc, antiqueish wooden boxes
Am sure you'll get a few other suggestions.
