Oops. Too trigger happy with the keyboard I guess so nothing posted above; here goes again......
Just wanted suggestions on what other stops along the way we should consider on this route:
BKK-Luang Prabang (fly)
- bus to Vang Vieng
-bus to Vietianne
-overnight bus to Pakse
-Don Det
-Kratie (overnight stop)
-Phnom Penh
-bus to Siem Reap
-overland back to Bkk.
If time permits we were thinking a few days in Sihanoukville (i.e. PP-snookyville-PP-SR....)
Any suggestions that wouldn't cause us to veer to far off our intended route? We were thinking maybe Kampong Cham (sp?) or Battambang....??

Hi Belly,
I'd add Battambang before Kompong Cham -- my suggestions below:
BKK-Luang Prabang (fly)
- bus to Vang Vieng
-bus to Vietianne
-overnight bus to Pakse
-Don Det (Don't forget Don Khon -- look into Salaphae rafthouse -- not cheap, but one of my most fave places in all of Laos)
-Kratie (overnight stop)
-Phnom Penh
> Sihanoukville or Kep, then back to Phnom Penh
> Battambang (by bus of taxi)
> boat or bus to Siem Reap
-bus to Siem Reap
-overland back to Bkk.

Looks great; any suggestions on what to do/see in Battambang. Also, would you choose Sihanoukville or Kep?

Hi Belly,
See our Battambang section for info on stuff to do in and around Battambang.
If I wanted to lay on the beach and go to bars and restaurants I'd go to Sihanoukville, if I wanted to spend a lot of time in my hammock at a good guesthouse with a few good books looking out to sea, I'd go to Kep.
