Hello all, a bit of advice is required....
I'm in east Java right now and hadplanned to go to Bali as my next stop and continue east throughIndonesia, then to Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Philippines, Myanmar. However, some very good friends will be in Bali in the middle ofAugust so am thinking about fitting that into my plan. I amconsidering the following route:
Fly Surabaya to Makasser
Overland through Sulawesi in one monthto Madano
Fly Madano to Jakarta
Fly Jakarta to Manila, Philippines -stay for 6 weeks
Fly Manila to Denpasar – visit Bali,Lombok, Flores for 5 weeks
Fly Denpasar to Balikpapan - visit borneo for 3 weeks
Fly Balikpapan to KL
Fly KL to Ranggon - myanmar for 1 month
Wow, that feels like a lot of flying! My original plan was to continue East through Indonesia to Flores/Sumbawa,then fly to sulawesi, borneo, philippines, myanmar – does the newroute appear more illogical and more expensive? Any alternativeroutes or alternatives to flying would be great to hear

I am also open to possibly visiting Borneo on another trip - may be too much of a strain on time given the visa situation...
