Hi there,
I know this is going to be a really hard question to answer but any info appreciated!
I've heard that island hopping in Indonesia is fantastic - I like culture, beaches and wildlife...
Can anyone recommend a rough itinerary, ending up in Bali and lasting for about 2 weeks?
Thanks!

In two weeks: Bali -> Gilis -> Lombok -> Bali. Not really time for anything more.

Slight variation - fly to Labuanbajo, West Flores. Spend a few days on nearby Kanawa or Seraya island. Then jump on Perama's boat for the 3 day 2 night budget cruise back to Lombok via Komodo National Park for some komodo spotting, spend some time on Lombok (I'd personally island hop the Gilis), then head for Bali for whatever you have left.

Could do Bali, Lombok in more detail plus my suggestions.
Could head further east than West Flores.
Could check some places in Java.

This is a good write-up of the Lombok to Flores boat The trip cost about $50, for all 4 nights and transfers and food.
You get what you pay for!

Thanks to Travelfish for posting my blog entry. Just a note: there are other options for the island hopping. You can take a Perama tour, which will run you at least 3x the price - but it does include cabins, a shower and a much higher likelihood of staying alive (it has lifejackets and a lifeboat; mine did not). More information is here: http://www.peramatour.com/HKC0102en.php.
Agreed w the admin here that 2 weeks won't get you that far - Indonesian transport is unreliable and pretty irregular. However, if you do a 5 night trip over to Flores and troll around Flores for awhile, you can hop a flight back to Bali from Ende Airport.

Hi everyone. Just a note that my site has moved and I'm now off Blogger so the link above does not work.
The new location of my insane 4 night trip through Lombok to Flores is here.
Thanks for reading, and thanks again to Stuart for posting the original link.
