Mosquitos in indo/Bali

  • christay2009

My first night in Bali was okay, you
can't judge anywhere that well on one night (unless it's at either extreme-amazing/terrible). However, I have managed to count more than 30 mosquito bites all over me including
my fingers, back, legs, feet, eyebrow, stomach, neck, armpit... Essentially everywhere

I was wearing repellant during the evening ad slept under a net.

I am not sure I can take another ravaging of this kind. It does seem like there are
loads of the buggers around. Anyone else had anything similar? I may hve to rethink how long I spend here If I keeps happening. I don't mind some but this is crazy!

There's prob a few more than usual due to Sanur getting it's first rain a day or so before you arrived, but weird that you got bit so much with the repellent and net etc. You sure it is mossies and not bedbugs?

    I was suprised! I'm pretty sure it's
not bedbugs. I thought their bites are
in a line usually? Also they are all fairly big and raised like
usual mossy bites. I survived the night anyway so hopefuly a one off.

I've had very few problems with mosquitoes in the last 4-5 weeks - in Bali, Lembongan, Penida, Gili Trawangan and in Flores. In fact, the last 4 nights on an island off of Flores we were in a bungalow on the beach and slept with the mozzie net up and the door wide open.

Mind you, I haven't seen much rain yet. Just a little bit in Labuanbajo (Flores).

Now flies, on the other hand, or driving me to distraction!
