Phongsaly road to be paved in next two years

By Khonesavanh Latsaphao
May 14, 2010
Mr Khamlek told Vientiane Times that Road B1 is now being surveyed to provide the necessary data for resurfacing.
The project will then be held up when the rainy season begins next month. “We are expecting to start paving the road at the end of the rains this year,” Mr Khamlek said.
as all road construction projects in Laos go, expect things to get much worse (the entire stretch torn up at one go instead of doing it section by section) before they get any better.

I can't imagine that road getting much worse to be honest -- I would have preferred just mud.
