I am going to be doing a village trek out of Muang Ngoi and want a recommendation for a good guesthouse there. I want a place that is in the heart of the time, and where the owner speaks relatively good English. Have a hammock with a river view would be nice. Any recommendations/

It's all in the thick of it - when you get off the boat you'll have plenty of people speaking English at you, just don't set yourself up in the mood where all you want to do is throw your bag down and have a room. That way you can scout out plenty of locations - since everything is so close together you won't have to worry about spending all morning looking, you'll find the spot you really want within an hour.
