can't seem to locate '4000 islands' in Laos, as part of a side trip of 4days from Bangkok. any help with itinerary, sites to see, travel advice.....i'm all ears:) thank you
Bangkok to Ubon Ratchathani by bus (or trains actually go to Warin Chamrap slightly south of Ubon). International buses then go to the Chong Mek border where you can get Laos visa on arrival, then another 40km to Pakse. Lots of hotels and guesthouses with info there, then go to the southern bus terminal about 7km out of town and get anything going south to Muang Khong or Ban Nakasang (the "port" for 4000 Islands). Follow the others to islands "Don Khong, Don Det, or Don Khone" Have a nice trip.
