Hey there!
My friend and I are wondering what the safest and best way to get from Luang Prabang to Hanoi is? We don't plan to fly, so wondering if anyone has taken this bus ride before? If so, do you know what border crossing it would be and if it's safe? How long? Any advice would be great!
Thank you!

Post #2 is one of the best posts for detail I have ever read, and I'm a member on various travel websites.
My only input is to say that when I was researching Hanoi to Laos a couple of years back I found very few comments about the bus (they were on travel blogs). The two comments that stuck in my mind were "takes about 24hrs" and 'the bus ride from hell". Hence, if I ever travel this route, either way, it will be by plane (Vietnam Airlines).
But I guess if your young, have the time, want to save a few bucks and have a sense of adventure then it will be Option A, B or C. Safe travels.
