Alternative option for Luang Prabang - Pakse trip

    Hello, I would like to discuss feasibility of my travel plan.

    We will enter Laos through Vientiane and continue to the Luang Prabang via VV. After few days in LP and surrouding arreas we will continue to the south and cross border to the Cambodia (high level plan - there should be stops during the journey).

    My question is - how difficult (how many hours, what can be seen during the trip) is to travel by route Luang Prabang - Phou Khoun - Phonsavan - Muang Khoun - Paksan and after continue to the south (Pakse).

    It is probably obvious what is the matter - I don't want to spent hours on the way from Vientiane to Luang Prabang and after that use the same road in the opposite direction on the way down.

    I'll be taking the bus... entering via Pakse - then north... yes it will be long journeys... make stops along the way to break it up.
