Things are changing fast on the little town on the Nam Ou. New highway bridges are being built over the Nam Ou and the Nam Paak. Look for Muang Khua to experience some significant growth in the next few years. Electricity is on pretty much full time.
Its still a great place to visit. Few falang stay more than one night, missing out on the flavour of the place. See it soon, as it will change quickly. I was there twice in the last month and both times were a hoot. Try staying on the far side of the suspension bridge, away from the same-same guesthouses near the boat dock.
