Looking to stay at 4000 Islands approx second week in May.
We're a couple not looking for party life - just wanting to take in the beauty of the area and relaxing the "Laos" way
First of all which island is the best for what were after?
Sunset or Sunrise side?
Any recommendations on accommodation - mid priced with aircon??

I stayed on Don Det, on the sunset side, it's more quiet. There's an 11pm curfew, no more booze for sale, but you can buy it before hand and party on the beach until late... (it's a tiny beach) People make a fire and just sit around....

From what I've read the sunset side is better. Although the sunrise side might be slightly nicer to wake up to the roosters and kids bustling about tend to make sleeping in fairly tricky. Plus who doesn't liek a good sunset? And if you're on that side you don't need to walk back in the dark.
