Is it recommended to bring a voltage converter and plug adaptor for charging cameras etc? Do internet cafes in Laos have any of these? I would hate to not be able to use my camera on my trip b/c my battery runs out! Thanks!
Re voltage converter, it would help to know what country you are from. Laos uses 230 V and a 2 pin plug. As an adaptor is hardly heavy to carry, I would suggest bringing one, though you can buy them here easily as well.

most portable electronic gadgets (cameras/music players/etc) these days have dual voltage battery chargers and are no problem to use in the region. Check the charger itself, on the bottom it should read something like "INPUT ~ 100-240V 50/60Hz". If so, you will be able to use it in Laos, where the voltage is 220V-230V, 50Hz. Bringing an adaptor is a good suggestion, they are small and cheap.
