This is probably a ridiculous question. I hear tubing is very popular in Vang Vieng. Would love to partake, but is there any need to be concerned about water parasites in that river? I'm assuming it's safe since so many people do it, but I don't want to end up with any uninvited guests in my pores! Anyone had any problems?

Wouldn't worry about it. The Nam Song River is relatively fairly fast moving. Not as conducive to parasites as still bodies of water. I've done the tubing thing loads of times without any problems (apart from the blurred vision and psychological maladjustments ............. just kidding).

I spent 6 hours on the river on my tubing day and didn't having any problems. Didn't see many bugs or anything like in the water - I wouldn't worry about it, it's a really fun day!
