Check rates at Oui's Guesthouse in Luang Prabang. Starting at US$25

So the Julie Guesthouse in Chiang Mai does a package where they take you to Chiang Khong (bordertown) to spend the night. In the morning, you cross into Laos for the slow boat from Huay Xai to Luang Prabang. If the border opens at 8:00 am (is that right?), what time does the boat leave? Is there enough time to cross over, do all the paperwork, etc? I don't want to miss the boat!

Don't worry, the boat only leaves when it's full ...VERY full. You'll no doubt be hanging around for an hour or two waiting for it to be more full than you'd ever think possible... ;-)
