ATM's dispense what currency, $ or kip?

    I have seen conflicting stories about what ATM's dispense, kip and/or US dollars.

    What's the true story? Do some machines dispense two different currencies? How does one know what currency a machine dispenses?

    ATMs dispense kip, after all you are in Laos. Why should they dispense US$?

    it is pretty much only ATMs in cambodia that dispense US dollars. thailand, laos, vietnam, singapore, etc dispense local currency.
