hey,
i'm in laos at the end of next week, first stop Luang prabang. I want a cool place to stay, where there are travellers who are into it all, ie -- not tourists.
i prefer to pay budget, but the high end of budget to moderate is good if it means need clean facilities -- even if shared. any suggestions? travellers atmosphere is what i am after.
also, I want to go trekking and dirt biking, anyone done it, or keen to do it in july?
I will be in loas for at least 3 weeks. I'm looking for adventure, and meeting that kind of like minded people.
cheers! R

Hi R,
Have you taken a look at our accommodation listings for LP.
Motorbike wise, afaik you can't rent motorbikes in LP, but you can from other centres in the country -- eg Pakse in the far south, Vientiane etc.
Somewhere that may strike your fancy is the Gibbon Experience

Yeah I have had a look at that -- thanks.
I am sure there are loads of top places to stay, but what I was really looking for is a place where travellers end up, because i am hoping to meet some others to go travelling with.
I'm keen on motorbike trekking and have found a company who does a 14 day trek on bike out of LP.
This is what I am looking at at the moment, anyone have any thoughts or experience on these?
Anyone wana join me?

Hi rapunzel,
While I'd love to join you, I'm unfortunately chained to this laptop and ain't going on any bloody 14-day motorbike trip anytime soon!
However, while this place didn't make out cut for LP (not sure why), it sounds like the kind of scene you're in the market for.
