Hi,

I am thinking of flying to Hanoi from Laos and was wondering if anyone knew a rough price for vietnam airways as the website isnt much help? We are flying in december. Is it easier and cheaper to book whilst in Laos or do the flights get very busy/more expensive nearer the time? If it looks to expensive we may reroute to avoid 24hours on a bus - any ideas for a different route?

Hi, i have the same problem excepct in the opposite direction. We need to get from LP to Hanoi, have you decided how your going to do it yet??

Hi Mark - we decided to book with lao airlines direct - 166USD is the current price from vien to hanoi - still not sure whether they will be cheaper to buy out there or not!?

Do you know how long the journey is by bus as we're looking to save money... or should we find an alternative route??

Hi, Markhall,
In case you have not done it yet, LP to Hanoi is about $190 BY Air Vietnam and $ 180 BY Laos Air but you may end up in a Air Vietnam plane as Laos Air may cancel and those who booked via Laos Air will then be moved to Vietnam Air. Its cheaper to book your flight when in Loas . Just flew from LP to Hanoi on 1st Oct. Its cheaper to buy from travel agent then direct from the airline ticketing office. And VTE to Hanoi is about $ 135 but not sure if this price include airport tax.

still not decided whether to buy the flights when in laos or not - does anyone know how booked the flights get? I'm guessing November/December could be busy times??
