I am travelling to Laos 2 weeks arriving in Vientiane , leaving 2 weeks later from Luang prabang to Hanoi (plane). Any suggestion of where to go, besides Vientiane , Luang prabang. thanks for any suggestion

The main resting stop between Vientiane and Luang Prabang is Vang Vieng -- but there's a couple of good spots north of LP at Muang Ngoi and Nong Kiaow -- both could be visited from LP before returning for your flight to Hanoi

forgot to get back and thank you. I am in vientiane and will go to Luang Prabang on monday. So I will try to visit the 2 places you have mentioned. what aout the plain of jars?
