Hi, i am a volunteer teacher in Thailand. I plan to travel up to Chaig Mai around the 12th of July, then i would like to travel around Lao. However i have a much smaller budget than i hoped of 400 pounds, my flight isn't until the 15th of September so realistically i think i will have to move it forward when i run out of money. I am traveling with a friend for the first 3 weeks and then alone. How long do you think i could make my budget stretch, where should i go, and will it be very wet at this time of year.
400 quid could stretch quite a way in Laos -- as long as you don't get too stuck into Beer Lao! Opt for cheap accommodation and don't travel tooo much and you could get by on ten pounds a day...
