I was thinking of hiring a Driver and car from Vientiane to Luang Prabangs has anybody done it?
Have heard the Scenery is brilliant and as I have my camera with me I would like to be able to stop on the way to take photographs..
Does any body know how much this would cost and if it is even posible...

Cheers

Car hire starts at around US$60 a day including driver. I'm not sure if you'd have to pay for the driver to return home, but it is certainly doable.

Yes, it is a very scenic trip.

Hmmm. I seem to have read this exact same post elswehere. Oh well, I guess i will reply with the same information.
Somsai, its a lot dearer than $60.00. The rate I have seen advertised, (on Monday actually), was 7000 baht. No doubt this is negotiable. $60.00! No way, Jose!

Thanks for the update Rufus, will get that corrected. Did a bit of Googling and found this page with some rates -- it's a travel agent, so perhaps you could get it for a little less -- though their rates could be out of date as well.
