    HI,

I haven't found any recent posts, but can someone confirm if they have recently crossed into Laos from Chong Mek, Thailand, and obtained a visa on arrival for Laos?

    Thanks!

yup, no problem, just did the trip about three weeks ago. Used the International bus Ubon to Pakse with a stop to clear immigration. Trip took over three hours, and they sold some of the empty seats for the rest of the trip to Pakse once we crossed into Laos, so put something on your seat if you still want the same one when you get back on after immigration, especially if you are traveling with a companion--no attention to paid to seat assignments on the tickets.
