I am going to be staying in Vientiane (City Center) and was wondering where the Thai Embassy is located because I need to apply for a non-immigrant Thai visa. I saw the map of Vientiane and it says the Thai Visa office is 4kms away (lower right hand corner)? http://www.travelfish.org/map_detail/laos/vientiane_and_surrounds/vientiane/vientiane/75
Has anyone done this before? If so, what's the best way to get there?
Thanks!

Just take a tuk tuk from downtown out to the visa dept -- they all know where it is.

Probably ten or twenty minutes on a bike from the river or an hour walking. It's between the Lao Arc de Triumph and the national symbol Tat Luang. Big crowds.

One hours walking??!! Somsai, you must be the world's slowest walker. Its about a 15-20 min walk from Korb Jai Der, a 5 minute tuk tuk ride.

20-25min walk (cats have short legs) from Ban Mixay area...walked Ban Mixay-Pha That Luang & back a couple of times (~40min one way if fine weather & no chatting with friends).

French Le Central is hard to beat for a quality meal; my locals are Le Provencal and Le Terrace.
